About me

Born and raised in Suzhou, China, Lilly, an 18-year-old with aspirations of becoming a doctor, never could have predicted her future as a composer. Throughout college, where she pursued a life science major, Lilly found herself spending countless hours in the lab, waiting anxiously for results. However, due to the lack of chairs in these modest laboratories, Lilly turned to composing as a means to pass the time and alleviate the discomfort in her legs. Little did she know, this would mark the beginning of her musical journey.

Having received classical training as a pianist, Lilly's diverse range of interests and expertise extend far beyond her musical pursuits. She holds the title of both a professor of Rock-n-Roll and a devoted anime fan. Additionally, her background in chemistry further enriches her creative approach, providing her with a unique perspective when crafting her compositions.

After completing her studies at NYU's Screen Scoring graduate program, Lilly wholeheartedly immersed herself in the world of music for visual media and beyond. Her exceptional instincts and ability to quickly adapt to new concepts propelled her to become a sought-after sound designer and music editor, allowing her to shape and refine the auditory experience on various projects.

In addition to her work as a composer, sound designer, and music editor, Lilly also imparts her knowledge and passion to the next generation of filmmakers. She currently serves as a distinguished faculty member at Columbia College Hollywood, where she teaches film sound production. Through her teaching, she nurtures aspiring sound professionals, sharing her expertise and inspiring them to explore the boundless possibilities of sound in storytelling.

Lilly's remarkable ability to seamlessly blend her roles as a composer, sound designer, music editor, and educator is a testament to her dedication and multifaceted talent.
